Erin Caves has earned a reputation for his dynamic interpretations of leading Wagner tenor roles such as Tristan in Tristan und Isolde, which he performed at Staatsoper Stuttgart, Opéra National de Bordeaux, Teatro Nacional de São Carlos Lisbon, Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, La Monnaie/De Munt Brussels, Stadttheater Klagenfurt, Shanghai Grand Theatre, and an award-winning performance at the Suntory Hall Tokyo.

Highlights for American tenor Erin Caves include:
– his acclaimed portrayal of Tristan in Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde at the Shanghai Grand Theatre in the first Bayreuth Festival production presented outside Europe under the baton of Xu Zhong
– his role debut as Siegfried in Wagner’s Götterdämmerung at Biwako Hall in Otsu, Japan, concluding Michael Hampe’s celebrated Ring Cycle under the baton of Ryusuke Numajiri, a production released on DVD
– his theatre debut at the Teatro alla Scala as Walther von Stolzing in Wagner’s Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg under Daniele Gatti, with whom he also performed the role of Hans Schwalb in Hindemith’s Mathis der Maler at the Opernhaus Zürich
– his appearance with Opera North as Don José in Carmen under the baton of Garry Walker
